Current Research Requiring Participants
We are currently recruiting for the project 'Speech Perception Test - Normative Data and Retest Reliability Study'.
This research is being conducted by the National Acoustic Laboratories to determine whether speech perception and reading disorders in some children result from deficits in the ability to recognize the rapidly-changing parts of speech sounds. The aim of the present study is to evaluate how normally-developing children perform on two newly-developed speech perception tests – the Phoneme Identification Test (PIT) and the Parsing Syllable Envelopes Test (ParSE). This research will allow us to use the tests in a planned clinical study with children who have phonological awareness and reading difficulties.
